Fantastic French flavours make this diner a rolled-gold discovery

The pork lived up to its reputation as the restaurant’s signature dish. Pork belly was rolled, then slow-cooked to fall apart tenderness. This process had caramelised the meat, giving it an almost creamy texture and producing a ribb-sticking feast.

The meals are generous at extremely reasonable prices. In such an elegant setting, and with such courteous and delightful service (you even get a discount voucher for the local car park), you are made to feel special as you get a little taste of paradise.

This restaurant is one of the best I have visited.

…The Salad of Green Pawpaw tossed with king prawns, peanuts and basil is fresh and delightfully tangy. The Grilled Scallops presented on the shell, are silken in texture, garnished with shallot and lemongrass and topped with crushed peanuts. The Grail is wihin my grasp with an entree of Escargots a La Mint; snails presented in cooking shells with a taste of mint, tomato and chilli.

The main course of Shaking Fillet Beef served with snake beans is a house speciality, with the beef cubes being tossed in butter and garlic. My favourite dish of the evening is pure unadulterated comfort food, Golden Pavé de Pork; caramelised slow cooked pork loin. With meat so tender it could be eaten with a spoon, this dish is peasant food fit for a king and worthy of a visit to my cardiologist.

The Grail is firmly in my grasp now with the dessert of Caramelised Sweet Potatoes; thin crisp of sweet potato with ice cream and in-house cinnamon syrup, followed by Flambé Banana; sesame coated Asian banana fritters, flamed at your table just to add to the ambience and my joie de vivre.

As deliciously adventurous as the food was, I was waiting for a dish that would take me back to my Vietnamese travels, where you’re never quite sure what was on your plate. Then came the speciality dessert: a chilled bitter lemon juice dessert served with coconut milk, which was decidedly quirky and provided a refreshing end to an eterprising meal.

Went to La Mint last night for the first time and was surprisingly impressed. If you're after Viet food at value then go to Cabramatta, but if you want a nice dinner in a quiet setting then I recommend this place. The setting was great, even though it was a Friday it wasn't too noisy or over crowded.

Food was tasty and decent sized portions, for entree we had the Escargot (delicious!) and the pancake (had better…), but for main we shared the Jade Pearl Perch - fantastic!

In my mind (equal to food) service is extremely important in judging a restaurant and, while it was no silver service, the wait staff were attentive and polite.

What a great evening! The food was beyond good and the service was so friendly and personal. Food - A fantastic fusion of French and Vietnamese. The lamb was perfectly cooked (very important!) and the flavours in all dishes were so fresh. The complexity of each dish could really be savoured.

The staff were warm and helpful. We often judge the service at a resaurant by how often they check and refill your water, and we were almost excited by the service in this regard!

We'll definitely go back soon.

A lovely restaurant. Vine beef roll a bit on the salty side, but absolutely loved the pave pork, slow cooked, soft, unctuous, melt in your mouth texture, nicely spiced in a master stock I am sure.

Good value. A weeknight visit, it was busy enough and the service was spot on.

A group of 9 ate here recently. We had the banquet menu and the portions were of an adequate size. I'm a big eater but I was not starving at the end of the meal by no means. Additionally found the service great and helpful. Little slow when we ordered cocktails but they were brilliant, try a Crazy Rum, it was worth the wait.

The food was mouth watering, the Shaking Fillet Beef with Snake Beans was an explosion, my taste buds did not know what to do and same can be said about the Golden Pave de Pork. Delicious.

We finished with the Caramelised Sweet Potatoes with cinnamon syrup which was a pleasant finish to a wonderful meal and evening. In addition we were not rushed out of the venue which makes for a nice change. Recommend highly.

Terrific mix of dishes. Unique Vietnamese/French. Same as Bob said above also. There’s a lot of restaurants around here, you may need to consider flyers etc.
